Nick Stephan

As Global Head of Fixed Income Product, Service, and Dealer Relations, Nick is responsible for the evolution of the Liquidnet Fixed Income offering. He is tasked with bringing together Liquidnet’s predominantly buy-side Member community with TP ICAP’s deep bench of market making clients, across the Agency Execution division. Based in New York, Nick’s focus is creation, development, and marketing of new trading protocols as well as cultivating and managing strategic partnerships

Prior to joining Liquidnet, Nick spent seven years at GFI Group, a division of BGC Partners, holding various positions managing hybrid credit businesses and fixed income technology buildouts. Most recently he co-headed Fenics DeltaX where he was responsible for the end-to-end design, build, and launch of the fixed income trading venue.

Prior to that, across an eleven-year period Nick founded and operated boutique brokerage firms, most recently Phoenix Partners Group where he spent eight years as CEO. During his tenure he expanded the New York based startup to a company of 130+ with offices in New York, London, Geneva, and Paris. He transitioned the firm from a traditional voice brokerage business to pure electronic and hybrid broking business overseeing the global buildout of its technology. Phoenix was acquired by GFI Group in 2013
