Larry Fondren is a respected veteran of the insurance and securities industries, where he has worked to develop and promote efficient and equitable markets. He has served the insurance industry in capacities ranging from agent to senior officer and shareholder of domestic and international insurance and reinsurance companies. In the securities industry he developed the first SEC-regulated electronic market for trading corporate and municipal bonds and other credit instruments. In 1990s Mr. Fondren launched the first Internet-based facility for single-price auctions of new asset-backed securities. He also developed a secure global network through which corporate buyers and sellers could anonymously outline their business interests, and receive mutual notifications as potentially complementary interests are entered by counterparties meeting their respective matching requirements.
Mr. Fondren has testified before Congress and other regulatory bodies regarding the need for greater transparency and access to order, pricing and transaction information in the U.S. capital markets. He is the inventor of a variety of inventions relating to insurance, market price discovery, risk mitigation, smart contracts, securities and other financial products and processes.
