Michael Sparkes leads Virtu’s Analytics group in the EMEA region, having previously run business development activities for the team. Prior to the merger of Virtu with ITG, Michael was head of ITG’s global analytics consulting team servicing clients with TCA and related analytical services. Michael has more than 25 years’ experience in financial markets including several years as Head of International Equity portfolio management at Aviva Investors. Michael also spent two years as Managing Director of Delta Lloyd Securities based in Amsterdam and Antwerp. He started his career at British Airways Pension Fund as a US equity portfolio manager. Michael is a graduate of Cambridge University.
