Nichola Hunter

With over 25 years working in banking and electronic trading, Nichola Hunter is a financial services professional driving the current wave of evolution in the fixed income markets. Nichola is currently the Head of Rates at MarketAxess, the world’s leading e-trading Fixed Income venue, transforming how the global fixed-income marketplace connects and transacts. She was appointed to the position following the acquisition of LiquidityEdge LLC, for which she was CEO.

In November 2019 and 2020 respectively Markets Media awarded Nichola ‘Woman in Finance CEO of the year’ and ‘Dealmaker’ of the year in recognition of her achievements as CEO of LiquidityEdge. Nichola was a founding member of the LiquidityEdge team and led the way first as COO and then as CEO. Prior to joining LiquidityEdge, Nichola held senior positions at ICAP Plc as co-head of EBS Market and Global Head of Product Management for EBS, ICAPs flagship spot FX, NDF and precious metals platform.

Nichola was also previously Global Head of Client Services for ICAP Electronic Broking including BrokerTec, a leading electronic venue for US Treasury trading. Nichola began her career in the Global Transaction Services division of ABN AMRO Bank in the Netherlands after completing the HSBC graduate training programme. She is based between London and New York, has one daughter aged 10 and holds a master’s degree in Politics and International Relations from the University of Aberdeen.
