He has close to 20 years of experience in EM credit and capital markets, with a track record spanning over 30 successful restructuring processes across CEE, Latin America, Africa, and Asia. Prior to founding Blackbeard, Ruslan held senior roles at VTB Capital and ICU, where he focused on distressed and special situations investing.

At Blackbeard, he leads strategies across EM high yield and distressed credit, targeting idiosyncratic, complexity-driven opportunities with equity-like return potential and strong downside protection. His approach combines rigorous fundamental analysis with deep expertise in legal frameworks, capital structures, and cross-border restructuring processes.
